Structural and mechanical properties of Laponite-PEG hybrid films

► Flexible and transparent films were obtained by modification of PEG to Laponite. ► The ordered structure of Laponite platelets emerged in the films. ► The films consisted of PEG with short chain showed good mechanical properties. ► The mechanical properties originate from quasi-homogeneous dispersion of components.
