Electroosmotic-capillary penetration in circular microchannels

► Analytical solutions for the dynamics of electroosmotic penetration are provided. ► For horizontal microcapillaries the Lucas-Washburn equation is extended to include electroosmotic effects. ► A different analytical solution is obtained for the case where gravity effects come into play. ► The analysis can be extended to account for significant changes in the dynamic contact angle.
