Iron-dextran complex: Geometrical structure and magneto-optical features

► The Cotton-Mouton effect in iron-dextran complex solution is studied. ► A modified method of measurement allows the estimation of magnetic dipole moment. ► Anisotropy of the linear magneto-optical polarizability is also calculated. ► Molecular mass of the complex is estimated on the basis of light scattering measurements. ► Mean linear optical polarizability and its anisotropy are obtained.
