Hydrotalcite-assisted cataluminescence: A new approach for sensing mesityl oxide in aldol condensation of acetone

- Layered double hydroxide-assisted cataluminescence system was established.
- A novel cataluminescence mesityl oxide sensor was fabricated.
- The proposed sensor was applied to sense mesityl oxide in the aldol condensation of acetone.
- The results of the proposed sensor were well agreed with those obtained by GC/MS.
