Energy input effect on morphology and microstructure of selective laser melting single track from metallic powder

► Preheating and scanning speed are selective laser melting process parameters. ► Process parameters affect stability, geometry and microstructure of single tracks. ► Analysis of statistically significant effects was done. ► Conclusions on optimal combination of the parameters are discussed and presented.
