Effects of ARB and ageing processes on mechanical properties and microstructure of 6061 aluminum alloy

▶ We apply the ARB process and ageing treatment on 6061 aluminum alloy. ▶ The microhardness values of the ARBed samples increase by increasing the number of ARB cycles. ▶ Strength and elongation improved after ageing process in ARBed samples. ▶ Fine precipitates were formed in ARBed specimens during ageing process.
