Influence of ductile damage on the bending behaviour of aluminium alloy thin sheets

► This study deals with crack occurence in bending. ► Mechanical tests in tension, on straight and notched samples, and biaxial tension are performed. ► Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman parameters are identified from these tests. ► A relationship between the critical void volume fraction and crack onset in bending is established. ► The influence of ductile damage on the numerical simulation of the bending test is evidenced.
