An evolutionary and life history perspective on the role of males on human futures

► In this paper, it is argued that life history theory provides useful insights into the evolution of human males. ► Evolutionary and life history theory can speak to the motivations and proximate mechanisms underlying human male behavior that have important effects on social, ecological, economic, and political issues. ► It is concluded that information derived from this perspective can be used to determine and potentially address future challenges to the human species.
