Strontium isotope analysis to reveal migration in relation to climate change and ritual tooth ablation of Jomon skeletal remains from western Japan

► Strontium isotope ratios of human skeletons and plants were measured. ► Immigrant was identified from a Jomon skeletal population. ► No difference in migration rate between the Middle and Late-Final Jomon groups. ► Tooth ablation types do not distinguish locals and immigrants.
