Direct electrochemical synthesis and crystal structure of a copper(II) complex with a chiral (S)-2-(diphenylmethanol)-l-(2-pyridylmethyl)pyrrolidine

New chiral binuclear complex of (S)-2-(diphenylmethanol)-l-(2-pyridylmethyl)pyrrolidine (S-dmpmpH) with copper (Cu2(S-dmpmp)2Cl(μ-OH)) was prepared by direct electrochemical oxidation and its structure was investigated by X-ray crystallographic determination and Raman spectroscopy. The complex was stabilized by the bridging of Cl and OH group and intramolecular hydrogen bonding.
