Synthesis and property of a chiral salen Mn(III) complex covalently linked to an Ru(II) tris(bipyridyl) photosensitizer

A light-driven catalyst model of the Mn(III)Ru(II) binuclear complex was prepared. The electrochemical and photophysical properties of the complex were studied. The excited-state lifetime of the complex is two orders of magnitude shorter than that of the [Ru(bpy)3]2+ complex.
