Ferrocene substituted N,N′-bis(3-aminopropyl)oxamide: A new electrochemical sensor for copper(II) and fluoride ions in the biological pH range

A new ferrocene functionalized receptor was synthesized and characterized. The electrochemical responses of the receptor in the absence and presence of cations and anions have been determined using cyclic voltammetry technique at different pH values. The electrochemical studies reveal that the receptor can be used as a sensor for Cu(II) ion as well as for fluoride ion.
