Koidz. has been showed to contain sesquiterpenes, polyacetylenes, oleanolic acid, and 5-hydromethyl furaldehyde. ► Discuss the chemotaxomic marker for genus Atractylodes. ► Five species of Atractylodes were similar in the sesquiterpenes and polyacetylenes. ► Oleanolic acid can be used to differentiate A. chinensis from A. lancea, A. koreana, A. ovata, and A. japonica.
