Investigation of problems associated with infrared image detection using rotating polarizers

Major contributions to the image wobbling when rotating polarizers are used with infrared cameras were investigated. The major contribution was found to be an until now unnoticed effect from infrared grid polarizers. Methods for measuring the effect and avoiding or compensating for the problem are suggested.
