Determining the magnetic ground state of TbNi5 single crystal using polarized neutron scattering technique

► We have carried out polarized neutron diffraction on TbNi5 compound at (2-30) K. ► We found abrupt change in the non-spin-flip scattering for satellites at 10 K. ► At this temperature the spin-flip scattering for Bragg reflections exhibits a change. ► Ferromagnetic and modulated components of the Tb-ion moment are mutually collinear. ► Incommensurate structure is fully suppressed at magnetic fields μ0H≥3.5kOe.
