Iron-based soft magnetic composites with Mn-Zn ferrite nanoparticles coating obtained by sol-gel method

► Uniformly coated Mn-Zn ferrite powder increased the operating frequency of SMCs. ► Compared with epoxy coated, the permeability of SMCs increased by 33.5% at 10 kHz. ► 400 °C is the optimum annealing temperature to attain the desired permeability.
