Preparation of strontium hexaferrite film by pulsed laser deposition with in situ heating and post annealing

► The SrFe12O19 film deposited on Si(1 0 0) with Pt underlayer by pulsed laser deposition. ► The films were synthesized with in situ and post annealing heat treatment. ► The films have perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, irrespective of heat treatment. ► The post annealed films have higher coercivity than that of in situ heated film.
