On the structural analysis and magnetic behavior of heavily doped Zn1−xMnxO nanopowders synthesized by wet chemistry method

► Mn2+ ions are able to substitute Zn2+ ions in Zn1−xMnxO lattice up to x≤0.05. ► For Mn concentration x>0.05 additional peaks appear on the XRD patter. ► The additional peaks on the XRD patter seem to correspond to secondary phases. ► Magnetism in ZnO seems not to stem from trace concentrations of magnetic contaminants.
