Synthesis and characterizations of microwave sintered ferrite powders and their composite films for practical applications

► Ferrite powders of (NixR1−x)0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 (R=Mn, Co, Cu; x=0, 0.5) are synthesized by the microwave sintering technique. ► Composite films are prepared using the sintered ferrites and polymer. ► Magnetic and electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness tests are carried out. ► Cobalt doped ferrites showed the highest value of shielding effectiveness.
