Phase composition, microstructures and magnetic properties of melt-spun Nd1.2Fe10.5Mo1.5 ribbons and their nitrides

► Melt-spun Nd1.2Fe10.5Mo1.5 ribbons were prepared within a broad speed range. ► The phase compositions of melt-spun ribbons change with the wheel speed. ► Average grain size in ribbons decreases linearly with increasing wheel speed. ► The wheel speed influences magnetic properties of the ribbonsʼ nitrides.
