The magnetic entropy change in La0.8Ce0.2Fe11.4Si1.6Bx compounds prepared by copper-mold casting

► La0.8Ce0.2Fe11.4Si1.6Bx compounds were prepared by a copper-mold casting (CMC) method. ► B-doping results in an improvement of magnetocaloric effect. ► The TC of the compounds is enhanced and the working temperature span is broadened. ► The thermal lag and magnetic hysteresis are dramatically reduced.
