► One source of error in state tomography is uncontrolled contact to a heat bath. ► The contact time with the bath may vary between different runs of the experiment. ► Data from multiple runs can be used to reconstruct the systemʼs relaxation dynamics. ► Given the latter, the unknown state can be constrained to a curve in state space.
