Nonlinear dynamics of charged particles in an oblique electromagnetic wave

► We study particle motion in field of oblique electromagnetic wave and background magnetic field. ► We find energy gained by particle due to capture and surfatron acceleration in resonance with wave. ► We demonstrate that all gained energy is accumulated in the motion along the background field.
