The N-soliton solution of a two-component modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation

► The 2-component modified NLS equation has wide applicability in fiber optics. ► The N-soliton solution describes the propagation characteristics of any number of optical solitons. ► The compact determinantal expression of the solution is presented here for the first time. ► The generalization to the multi-component system is proposed as well as its continuum version.
