Dynamics of diapause hormone and prothoracicotropic hormone transcript expression at diapause termination in pupae of the corn earworm, Helicoverpa zea

► mRNAs encoding PTTH and DH are much higher in nondiapausing than in diapausing pupae. ► Ecdysone breaks diapause at any temperature but DH does so only at temperature ≥21 °C. ► Diapause-terminating stimuli prompt synchronous elevation of PTTH and DH mRNAs.
