Active diuretic peptidomimetic insect kinin analogs that contain β-turn mimetic motif 4-aminopyroglutamate and lack native peptide bonds

► Two biostable, peptidomimetic analogs of insect kinin neuropeptides were synthesized that contain no native peptide bonds. ► These analogs match the efficacy of a native insect kinin in an in vitro cricket diuretic assay, although they are less potent. ► The simplified mimetic insect kinin analogs represent a significant step toward the development of completely non-peptide analogs.
