Orexin receptor type-1 antagonist SB-334867 inhibits the development of morphine analgesic tolerance in rats

► The effect of orexin receptor type-1 antagonism on morphine tolerance was studied. ► Central injection of SB-334867 prior to morphine inhibited the development of analgesic tolerance. ► It is concluded that orexin might be involved in the development of tolerance to morphine.
