Effect of purified Russell's viper venom-factor X activator (RVV-X) on renal hemodynamics, renal functions, and coagulopathy in rats

► We examine renal dysfunction, coagulopathy, and histopathology in rats given RVV-X. ► RVV-X produces renal dysfunction, intravascular clot, and fibrin thrombi in kidneys. ► RVV-X shows intravascular clots and simultaneously causes renal dysfunction. ► RVV-X is a major cause of renal failure through clotting in renal microcirculation.
