► Parasitoid-host interaction. ► Direct envenomation into the CNS. ► Hypokinesia results from envenomation, resembles symptoms of reserpinization. ► No depletion of biogenic amines occurs following envenomation and onset of hypokinesia. ► Reserpine treatment causes amine depletion in both naïve and stung cockroaches.
