Tree-in-bud pattern in central lung cancer: CT findings and pathologic correlation

Squamous cell carcinoma in a 54-year-old man. Axial CT image shows an irregular hilar mass in the posterior segment of the right upper lobe with bronchial mucoid impaction distal to it. Note the TIB pattern connecting to these dilated bronchi with mucus impaction with a focal distribution.
