“Человеческое лицо гонимого судьбой…”: А. Блок и Э.К. Метнер в свете вагнеровского мифа

The article presents an analysis of the creative relationship of Emil Medtner and Aleksandr Blok. Blok's response to Medtner's article on Liszt serves as material. Three possible levels of interpretation of this article are allocated: 1) biographical: plot of withdrawal from the house; 2) culturological: connection of the German and Gipsy traditions in music; 3) mythopoetic: Liszt is identified with Klingsor, the character of Wagner's opera Parsifal, and his relationship with Russian culture is read through the basic Symbolist myth about the captured World Soul.
