Мифология, фольклор и мифологическое сознание в Докторе Живаго

The article discusses mythological and folkloric motifs in Pasternakʼs novel Doktor Zhivago. There is a myth connected with the main hero of the novel: Iurii Zhivago and St. George, cf. the poem ‘Skazka’. Some characters, such as Anna Ivanovna Gromeko and the cook Ustinia, tell mythological stories. With her knowledge of folktales and magic the “soldatka” Kubarikha is the most important representative of the oral tradition in the novel.
