“Понять тайну волос”: Запахи в художественном мире А. П. Платонова 1

In this article the authors explore the great variety of meanings connected with the occurrence of motifs of smells, odours, scents in Andrei Platonov's works. They limit themselves to a survey of smells connected with human beings and animals. Largely, dependent on whether smells are “male” or “female”, these function as means of characterization, while they often also convey the attitude of one character to another. However, they also play an important role in the expression of Platonov's authorial views.
