The article discusses the linguistic mechanism of the semantic transformations by means of which in the works of Daniil Kharms a picture is created of an absurd world. To show this mechanism, two poems of Kharms are analyzed, dedicated to his friends and fellow-poets A. Vvedenskii and N. Zabolotskii. The aim of the article is to find the rules of interpretation that help to determine both the individual Kharmsian deviations and the more general artistic principles of the OBERIU group. Particular attention is paid to the violation of the syntactic rules concerning the combination of primary and secondary predicates, which create unusual ways of switching from one semantic space to another. At the same time, irregular verb constructions show us some kind of play with the splitting up of the “I”.
