Комедия города Петербурга Даниила Хармса как “обэриутский предмет”

The article discusses some of Kharms's poems and his play Comedy of the City of Petersburg, especially with respect to the representation of time and space, multiperspectivity – which amounts to the disappearance of the subject. In the reading of the comedy, with its numerous quotations and literary reminiscences, the focus is on the themes of remembrance and oblivion, of the past and the (Soviet) present, ultimately articulating the uncertainty of life and death. It is contended that the Comedy embodies the poetic principles of Kharms of the late twenties and becomes an “object” in the Oberiu sense.
