A Public Actor Awareness for Sustainable Development

Algeria, a developing country, introduced the concept of sustainable development into its urban policy since 2001, as a culture and a way of thinking and acting, also by taking into account human, economic and environmental balances. More than fourteen years ago, the law related to sustainable development was officially promulgated, one of the major stakes is to adapt the public actors and their skills to this new concept, to make them understand to well apply and practice it with an adequate behavior. The modes of action of these public actors are fundamentally conditioned by the legal and regulatory texts and the directives of policy makers, but what is their own understanding of this concept?The integration of sustainable development in government, requires a great degree of consciousness, we are trying to measure in order to know its effect on sustainable development implementation in Algeria. Indeed, in this article we try to propose solutions and develop appropriate tools to implement them in the service of the effective and efficient integration of sustainable development in public action.
