Setting a Global Mindset for Future Entrepreneurs: The Share of Bulacan State University as an Academic Institution

As an academic institution that provides opportunity both for future managers and entrepreneurs and the builders of entrepreneurial foundations as well as molders of competitive skills, this research study aims to presents the share of the College of Business Administration faculty and experience of students on how to develop a global mindset among the students. Global mindset is the ability of someone to influence individuals, groups, organizations, and systems that are unlike him/her (Javidan, 2007). This study covers the graduating business and entrepreneurs students for the academic year 2013-2014. A mixture of qualitative and quantitative technique in data gathering was utilized to determine and assess the perception of the respondents in the development of global mindset. The results revealed that the institution provides the students an adequate avenue to think creatively and responds to ideas quickly which is a psychological factor in setting the minds globally of the students. Also, by allowing a quite number of foreign students to mingle with local students, the study reveals that the institution provide the students an opportunity to learn and observe the actual practices and behavior of people from other countries. As such, this study provides inputs to further develop the curriculum and projects for the programs to strengthen the share of the institution in developing a global mindset to the students.
