Paper talks about the history of the oldest technical university in Slovakia, its development and current state of the education provided. The paper describes forms of cooperation of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME) with industries. In addition to the history and current state of provision in the field of engineering education, to the core of the contribution is dedicated to new forms of the cooperation technical training and common applied research.
