Space plant biology research in Lithuania

► In 1957 the Soviet Union initiated its space exploration programs. ► Scientists from the former Soviet Republic Lithuania participated in these programs. ► Lithuanians designed more than 20 experiments on higher plant species during space flight. ► Some of Lithuanian scientists' experiments had never before been attempted and, therefore, made scientific history.
