Metal ion promoted hydrolysis of nitrile-functionalized triazamacrocycle

Hydrolysis of nitrile pendant arms attached to triazamacrocycle was first achieved in the presence of metal ion, and the ZnII complex containing the amide derivative ligand was characterized by X-ray crystallography, electrospray ionization mass spectrum (ESI-MS), IR and UV spectroscopy.
