Silver(I) coordination polymers self-assembled through methanolysis of pyrazinecarbonitrile: Structure and photoluminescence

Novel supramolecular solids depending on the counteranion have been constructed from AgX (X=CF3CO2- (1) and CF3SO3- (2)) with pyrazinecarbonitrile via the methanolysis of pyrazinecarbonitrile in the silver(I) methanolic solution. They are both one-dimensional ladder-like coordination polymers due to the π-π interactions. Both compounds display relatively strong photoluminescent behaviors.
