Synthesis of monofluoroalkenes using a Pt-catalyzed amination reaction of cyclic 3,3-difluoropropenes with secondary aliphatic amines

• The Pt-catalyzed amination reaction of cyclic 3,3-difluoropropenes is reported.
• The corresponding monofluoroalkenes are obtained in moderate to excellent yield.
• The nature of the substrate and the amine impacts the reactivity.

The synthesis of monofluoroalkenes using a Pt-catalyzed amination reaction of cyclic 3,3-difluoropropenes is reported. The use of secondary aliphatic amines and cyclic 3,3-difluoropropenes is necessary for the success of the reaction.
