Syntheses, structures and Raman spectra of Cd(BF4)(AF6) (AÂ =Â Ta, Bi) compounds

► The Cd(BF4)(TaF6) and Cd(BF4)(BiF6) compounds were synthesized and characterized. ► Eight fluorine atoms form distorted square anti-prismatic Cd2+ coordination sphere. ► These compounds are not isostructural with the earlier studied Ca, Sr, Ba and Pb analogues.
