Quantum chemical investigations on superhalogen properties of MnFn (n = 1.6) nano-complexes and the consequential possibility of formation of new MnFn-Na salt species

► Present study points to the fact that MnFn (n = 1-6) belong to the class of superhalogens. ► MnFn clusters are found to be stable in the gas phase against dissociation to F and F2. ► The binding energy of MnF4 dimer is found larger than that of F2.
