Profiles of alkylresorcinols in Iris plants

• Comprehensive 5-alkylresorcinol profiles in eight Iris species were provided.
• Three new veryl long-chain resorcinols were observed.
• The structures were tentatively confirmed by synthetic standards.
• Iris species can be classified into several groups according to resorcinolic lipid profile.
