A convenient route to enantiomerically pure, conjugated dienes from sugar allyltin derivatives

The transformation of sugar allyltin derivatives into enantiomerically pure dienes (R*–CHCH–CHCH2) is presented. The internal double bond with the trans-configuration is formed regardless of the configuration of the starting sugar allyltin.
