Malonylated anthocyanidin 3,5-diglucosides in the flowers of the genus Disa (Orchidaceae)

► Malonylated 3,5-diglucosides of pelargonidin and cyanidin were isolated from the flowers of Disa cultivars. ► The finding of acylated pelargonidin glycosides are the first report in Orchidaceae. ► The distribution of malonylated 3,5-diglucosides of pelargonidin and cyanidin in Orchidaceae was discussed along with the classification by phylogenetic analysis of Orchidaceae.
