Synthesis, characterization, cytotoxicity and antimicrobial studies on bis(N-furfuryl-N-(2-phenylethyl)dithiocarbamato-S,S′)zinc(II) and its nitrogen donor adducts

► Four new zinc dithiocarbamate complexes containing furfuryl group were prepared. ► Complexes were characterized by IR, NMR (1H and 13C) and X-ray diffraction. ► All the synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial activities. ► All complexes were tested for their cytotoxic activity against HeLa cell lines. ► Complex 4 shows best antimicrobial activity and 1 exhibits maximum cytotoxicity.
