Purifying Native In-Situ Mastoid SiO2 from Rice Husk

Using the rice husk as raw material, the native in-situ mastoid SiO2 is purified by acid and alkali pretreatment. The morphologies and structures of the native in-situ mastoid SiO2 are characterized and analyzed with SEM, HRTEM, FT-IR, EDS and XRD. The results show that the native in-situ SiO2 is mastoid and amorphous. Si content is increasing from the outer surface to the inner surface of the rice husk.
