Two types of quasilinear elliptic equations with degenerate coerciveness and slightly superlinear growth

The existence of positive solutions for two types of quasilinear elliptic equations with degenerate coerciveness and slightly superlinear growth is established. Especially, we solve an open problem proposed in the literature (Mercaldo and Peral, 2008).
